Islet of Italy away from Italy
More than half a century since opening, the first La Taverna was opened in 1969. Taking pride in ‘Made In Italy’ as an authentic Italian experience, the familiar aroma of sizzling vegetables fill the homely dining room, as wait staff introduce daily specials and signature dishes to the guests of the evening.

ORIGINAL RECIPES FROM 1969
The original classics of La Taverna, inspired by the restaurant’s 1960s classic menu where old-Italian cooking methods are reinstated to create authentic Italian dishes. Most dishes requiring over 24 hours to prepare, they are the secret of success of Italian food.
THE AUTHENTIC ITALIANS
The intimate lower ground level restaurant, with its low arches and hundreds of straw chianti bottles hanging from the ceiling, maintains its original traditional homely design and the original all-Italian furniture and fittings, so that when you enter it feels like walking back in a time capsule to Italy in the 1960s.
GLORY OF OLD HONG KONG
The first La Taverna was opened in 1969. It was a place where the Italians could enjoy good authentic food from back home, then became popular among tycoons and celebrities, welcoming the likes of Roger Moore, Anita Mui and Madonna. Bruce Lee even shot a movie with us.
